Giving students a positive experience with music and the arts is our number one goal. We believe that the arts should be fun, presented in a supportive environment, and use materials that inspire practice & commitment. Village instructors put these principles into practice, and Village students develop a love and understanding for their craft that will last a lifetime.
Village Center of the Arts celebrates its 13th successful year in the business of Arts Education. This year, the Company has expanded its leading Village Music School Program with the addition of Theatre and Yoga. With the purchase of their new Pleasant Hill building, Village Center for the Arts celebrated a Grand Opening in the Fall of 2012.
The Company opened its east bay doors in March of 2000, with a staff of five music teachers, a core group of fifty students and a commitment to creating, “a friendly place for learning”. Village now has a staff of twenty five teachers instructing over five hundred students every week.
Village is highly committed to maintaining and growing meaningful partnerships with the public and private schools throughout the Diablo Valley, San Ramon Valley and Lamorinda communities. Executive Director and Founder Robert W. Konkle received the Community Service Award from Pleasant Hill in 2011 as acknowledgement of Village’s efforts to get arts education back into our schools. Success has only increased enthusiasm and focus for expanding the Center’s educational contributions to Bay Area Schools and communities.
We take great pride in the artistic and personal achievements of all Village students. It has been extremely gratifying to watch so many discover the gift of music, and as the Center continues to expand and develop fun and creative arts programs, we look forward to many more years of discovery and applause.

Village Center for the Arts screens all teachers carefully. Families can be assured that all of our instructors have been fingerprinted, FBI cleared, and their references carefully checked before they are asked to join our team to teach our students. Our teachers are friendly, fun and professional. They have come from Dartmouth, Berkelee, New England Conservatory, The San Francisco Conservatory of Music and many other great schools.
