Position: Music Teacher

Village Music School is comprised of kind, honest people who truly care about music education and the well being of students. Our teachers have created a community where we assist one another in the craft of teaching and music making. We teach students of all levels in both private and group settings- Kindergarten through Adult.

An ideal candidate for our team is kind, patient and conducts themselves in a professional manner. Our teachers are diligent and thoughtful in creating engaging lesson plans for varied skill levels and ages of students. More important than anything, we want teachers who students look forward to studying with; a teacher who makes lessons fun, inspires progress and commitment. A music degree is preferred but not required.

In addition to our Village Center location in Pleasant Hill, we have created offsite partnerships throughout our community. Reliable transportation and an ability to serve as an ambassador for our organization as well as music education are prerequisite.

We are currently reviewing resumes for the following teaching positions:

Vocal/Piano/Chorus teacher for private lessons and special group singing class: Choir, Musical Theatre, etc. -
Teachers with chorus and/or theatre backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Basic piano skills are necessary, and the ability to teach beginning piano in addition to voice is most preferred. Most importantly, someone who is engaging, enthusiastic and loves working with kids of all ages. Previous experience in directing choirs and/or musical theatre productions preferred.

Piano Teacher
Traditional Piano Instructors. Positions are available in group and private settings.

Guitar Teacher-
Possible availability for private and group settings.

4th/5th Grade Band Teacher-
Music education degree or equivalent experience based expertise required. Our Concert Band teachers are ambassadors throughout the east bay for our school and are committed to fulfilling one of our primary goals: bringing Music Education back to schools in our communities. Classes take place on campuses throughout the east bay.

Cello/Violin Teacher-
Possible availability for private and group settings.

Drum/Percussion Teacher-
Possible availability for private and group settings.
